The Petroleum Institute of East Africa participated on the 21st December 2022 in the Special Presidential programme on National Tree Growing Restoration campaign (NTGRC) by contributing towards supply and husbandry of the more than two hundred thousand (200,000) seedlings. 

The NTGRC is  in harmony with the aspirations of the professional industry association as stipulated in PIEA Mission Statement. Further efforts towards environment conservation such as tree growing enhance an supplement industry’s  leadership and commitment to supplying cleaner fuels that add value to sustainable economic development. Indeed ,as the standards for petroleum fuels are improved to reduce harmful emissions ,trees will take on the carbon that follows engine combustion hence further reducing the contribution of fossil resources on climate change.

This programme #JAZAMITI campaign will be implemented through a whole of Government, whole of society approach and its’ implementation is being coordinated by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry across the Country with the aim of achieving 15billion seedlings for restoration of a total of 10.6 million hectares of degraded landscapes.
